Zephyr got out of his room-somehow-while we were out shopping. Im sure he got spooked by the very heavy thunderstorm we had, complete with loud booms, tons of rushing water, and bright flashes. He found his way out of the screened room (Ive spent tons of time going over it, I just cant fathom how he got out.) and is loose, in the wild. I feel so horrible/guilty/anxious/worried/scared, etc...i spent 2 hours looking for him and i am SURE he is not in the rooms at all. I talked to our neighbors who kindly said theyd keep an eye out, and reassured us that he must be in the bushes. theres about a 15 foot barrier between our house and the neighbors, and im sure he hasnt gone farther then that. It looks like a picture from the amazon, almost...large leafy overheads, flooded bottom, tons of undergrowth and branches laying across the water-several times I thought I saw him when I realized it was only a dead fern, or a light log. Id leave food out-but im sure itd just become enticment for the armadillo/gopher torts/any other beasties that lurk by night. Zephyr got syringe fed pureed greens, and had salad avaliable to him whole, but would not eat on his own. I HAVE to find him in the next couple of days, have to have to have to.. How long could he last along? im in eastern florida and the only time id be worried about him outside is winter prehaps some fall or spring days. Temperature isnt an issue, yet. Im getting up at 6am tomarrow to hopefully find him basking in plain sight or something-I can wish, cant I?I dont think hes climbed in any trees yet(then again, its impossible for him to escape..so ya never know), he was never much of a climber, due to MBD weakened/floppy fingers. hes the guy who last time i thought he escaped, found him under a pile of dead ferns in the (screened in) garden. ive practically tore through their, only stopping with my tears and rain made it impossible to keep a level head and search. Are there um..any predators I should be aware of that might make a meal of a 3' 3.5" orange ig? :*( Im hoping to find him safe, healthy, whole, and SOON tomarrow. If in the next 2 or 3 days he isnt found, ill be posting lost signs everywhere. *sighs* any words of encouragment would be a helpful thing right now.
