I don't own them, but from what I have heard and seen in pictures, IMHO it is without a doubt ...

SUTHERLAND!!!!!!!!!

Joliffs are the ones that look normal and sutherlands brown out some, but still look axanthic.

Axanthics seem to be highly variable so it is hard to say for sure. What I really like about the Jollif Axanthic is the fact that many of them have a slightly banded or reduced pattern. I have seen pics of alot of them that look this way. I would say look at the parents a judge by them which is going to better as an adult. All lines of Axanthics have some VERY pretty animals, and some that brown up. Do your research and you should find one that suites you.

Everyone will say that their line is best, who is right? The Market!! We've seen some lines drop like a rock in value recently.. I'd stay away from those if you are serious about a clean axanthic.

We have seen alot of Axanthics and the VPI Axanthics seem to hold thier black and silver color exceptionally even as adults. We have a trio of homzygous VPI Axanthics that are almost 3 years old and they are truly only black and silver. We think VPI Axanthics rule!!

I agree totally.........

Have put them all together in person, my VPI's looked the best. Not always easy to show with digital pics. Plus not all snakes ever look the same, but most VPI are clean. Just my opinion...heck compare the Snow Balls!

Here is a good VPI

I believe the Axanthics are actually Anerythristics. The hatching of the Snowballs seems to be the "proof in the pudding". I believe the Barker's strain to be more comparable to the Sutherlands strain. I feel that my strain is similar to the type A strain of Anery Cornsnkae which mutes a certain layer of yellow. While the other two strains seems to be similar to the type B strain of Anery Cornsnake which seems to remove most - but not all - of the yellow (especially on the head). As with all Anerys (& almost all snakes), they all darken w/ age. They are all beautiful in my opinion. I'm sure there are a lot of haters who will disagree. Meanwhile, here is a pic I took @ an Expo for you to compare.

We have a year old male Sutherland Axanthic and he still looks great. Keep in mind also that it can be hard to accuratly represent the exact colors with a digital camera. A lot of morphs look a LOT better in person than in photos (unless of course the photos have been doctered ) Anyway, from what I've heard Sutherland are the best.
