Wheres all the Sarawaks??

iaherper Nov 16, 2005 05:35 PM

I have a issue here...I was considering my pair of Sarawaks so I was just looking around to see how many were out there...VERY FEW!!..WHY?...Is there just little interest them or are they kinda "rare"? If it is just that few people are working with them I would be kinda stupid to sell a pretty nice pair just because I could the room for boas and SSTs...BUT if there is no interest them....I wouldn't be out much selling them....RIGHT??*L*

sorry for the rambling....its been one of those days...*S*

Heres a pic of the pair in question..

Hey,
Those are some very nice Sari's, and I would hold on to them as they are not very common with herper's, mainly blood and short-tail keepers. The lack there of can be attributed to the strict and or stringent laws in their mainland Malaysia versus Kalimantan, which is on the Indo side of the island of Borneo. There are apparently strictor laws governing the exportation of animals from that side of the island and that accounts for the lack of Sarawak's and even Malaysian bloods as it were. That is bloods hailing from mainland Malaysia versus Sumatra. As it stands there are only a handful of keeper's working with a very small breeding group and they can be counted on one hand.

No..they're not from Garby....I got them from a local breeder/friend..and I know, but can't remember, who he got the parents from....

I think that they are rarely seen by other SSTand bloo keepers, due to the smalll number of keepers and breeders. I plan on breeding mine in a couple of years, but I absolutely love my pair I got last month.
