Feeder fish from a pet shop would be easier (and cheap). Depending on where your snakes are from, salamanders may not have made up much of their natural diet.

Why??
In the wild they do eat salamanders and newts on occasion, but in captivity mice, fish, and bugs are a much easier and less expensive option. Salamanders do not make up a large portion of the wild diet for most garter and ribbon snakes, it may not even be healthy for them to eat a lot of salamanders.
In your previous post http://forums.kingsnake.com/view.php?id=945556,945556, you ask where you can locate some salamanders so that you can see them. Now here you state that you want some salamanders to feed your snakes...I believe you lied in your original message. After having seen several of your posts and viewing your website, I am pretty sure you are just a child. Being that, I think it would be a good idea to stay on the right path. Being caught lying is a good way to discredit yourself for years. If you want people to take you seriously, tell the truth. Also, if you're interested in staying on the right path, I would consider checking your laws. It is very likely that collecting salamanders to feed your captive snakes is illegal (and immoral, in my opinion). I'd suggest taking this advice - don't screw yourself up now. Be honest and follow the appropriate laws.

ok detective mike.
lol...Doesn't take detective work, Alex. It's pretty obvious if you just look at this person's two posts. Similar to how its pretty obvious you are merely looking for sites to collect animals when you make posts asking for locales for a "school project," then coincidentally you make future posts about your new pets...Detective work? No...just attention to detail.

I have wild garters in the area . I have never seen a salamnder but imagine there are some but have seen the garters eat earthworms and lots little fish(we have a pond with white clouds that breed non stopin the spring ,summer).
I think earthworms and fish might be more to their liking I say this because some salamanders might have toxins that can hurt them though ofcourse many types are eaten.
