Anyone have a more stupid dragon than this?

Snakemother Nov 17, 2005 08:31 AM

My trio of dragons have the run of the reptile room (have had for a year now). They have basking sites, water pool, hides, etc. They love it, and the 2 girls are fine. My old male (at least 9 year old normal, my first dragon - wouldn't trade the old thing for the most expensive morph out there) tries to escape often in order to join the family, which is fine, he just watches TV with us and hangs out.
Yesterday I found him between one of the snake tanks and the wall, sideways and stuck. Fished him out; endured his puffing as to him it had to be my fault. Today I go in to check him to be sure he was fine from his escapade yesterday to find he had wedged his head under a wooden stand with a heavy 40 gallon long tank with the full set-up for my daughter's ball python. All this weight is on his big block head.
So I somehow picked up and moved this tank with all assessories inside (I was too panicked to take the time to unload the tank)and got him from under the stand. Got puffed at some more 'cause it couldn't be his fault, of course. His head is scraped from trying to get out (looks kinda like two small patches of road burn). He's now laying on heat on the couch watching TV waiting for his vet appointment. After that, I gotta see whether I pulled out the stitches I had in my back from some minor in-office procedure my doctor did a couple days ago.
All this, in a room with all the stuff there in the same place for a year. No more free-roam for him.
Sorry, just had to vent. Gotta go back and baby the invalid dragon now.

I am laughing my head off here...and I'm so happy i definitely made the right decision getting a baby beardie rather than a water dragon!!! They sound like a lot of fun, and I'm already in love with my little Reeshee the "he/she", til it grows up and i know what sex it is. Thanks so much for the entertaining and informative post...Hope both you and your 'baby' are healed well...best wishes to you!
