questions about basilisks

vegtam2003 Nov 17, 2005 08:35 AM

I posted early pictures of our year old basilsik. Books on these animals are few and far between. Everything I have read about them states how "flighty" they are. For some reason ours is just the opposite. When we come in the room he runs over to the glass to get closer to us. We have surmised that maybe this is due to my girlfriend hand feeding him since he was a hatchling. Can basilsks "bond" with thier keepers? He doesn't allow us to hold him, but if we pet him on his neck or sides he seems happy. Do we have an "oddball" or is this normal?

Sounds good to me, they can and do develop relationships, though most are little more stand offish. Most people err, in trying to handle them, that can just make them more fearful, it sounds like your doing a great job with him!
