cool,bob....i didn't know you were into them.het email me at justinian2120@hohtmail.com,i have some stuff to didscuss with you when you get a chance!
i started with pituophis...then moved to the smaller colubrids...due to several factors..maried, wife uneasy about large hissing serpents,...divorced...lack of room...remarried, bought a bigger house...now i'm back to drys & pits.......that's my story...........also, no more venomous
LA Pines are some of the most voracious feeding snakes I've ever kept(I've been breeding Pituophis since the late 80's, I had an ad in the 2nd Vivarium issue) and these large hatchlings grow very fast. Below is a photo of my Rapides Parish female when she was a hatchling, I need to get some updated photos.

yah they are cool,i like how they (usually) mellow out as they get older(good thing huh?)...i know they get big,etc...but still dunno why more colubrid keepers are'nt into them.i guess it's because they are'nt laden with 'morphs',etc...case in point-the most popualar pits,(bulls),are the one species with the most color morphs.but that's ok with me,i find them fascinating and intruiging, esp since they are so hard to find in the wild, esp. the southern (sub)species.
