What about Whitesided / Blotchless?

Or Whitesided / Ultra Black?

Next year I'm gonna breed double hets.

those would be very nice as well.
i think the ultra black would hard to produce because of what the W/S gene does to color... i've noticed that in all W/S snakes
the color and pattern is very muted.. does anyone know why this happens....?

I would think it has something to do with being codominant with the wild type gene, same as leucism. Just a guess though.....

I think it's the white skin behind the scales. The same effect is what I see in my whitesided Yellow Ratsnakes, but these are a bright lemon because of this, wich I think is quite attractive. It's a pitty about the whitesided Black Ratsnake though. I mean, I still like them nevertheless, but the contrast could have been so much better if it wasn't for the white skin behind the black scales. That's why I would like to see what happens when the whitesided trait is combined with melanism. Wouldn't it be cool if the result turns out to be a high contrast black & white ratsnake, perhaps like the piebald Persian Ratsnake (Zamenis persicus)? Ok, so this is wishful thinking, but I guess it's worth the shot.

Both of those have been on the market for some time now. Look around at the shows, you'll see them.
