dragon tongue

my chinese water dragons always had a nice pink mouth and tongue, but today he was licking his lips (???) and his tongue was almost completlye white...what could be wrong w/him? is this maybe a vitamin deficiency, maybe his uvb light is losing power and about to go out, i'm not sure...sum 1 help?

thats a tough one. My guess is that the color varies with activity. In the absence of other symptoms I wouldn't worry about it. If you think it might be mouth rot you will find a cheesey discharge around the gums, also infected animals tend get more red coloration in their mouth as it is irritated not less.
