are those true ruthveni????
that anterior/neck dorsal pattern looks sort of off to me;awfully clean,you know?
If you mean the pictured snake at my homepage here: http://www.pinesnake.de/english/pituophis/ruthveni.html
here are some background informations about it:
Its the snake of a friend of mine, who lives in northern Germany. He bought it some years ago as pure P. ruthveni, its orgin was in USA and it is a lonly male. We know, that there are several mixed ruthvenis on the market, but my friend swore, that his source would be trustful...
We don't know exactly something about the relationship of this animal. The coloration is not typical for most ruthveni, but the amount of saddles is in the limits of ruthveni and below this of sayi.
Yes, your'e misstrust isn't without reason - I don't swear for the pure blood of this animal..., but I can't proof it for the opposit. (and til this he is "not guilty
)
I don't know other P. ruthveni in Germany - and the acual protection regulations don't make it easy to import those 100% prooven locality raritys as c.b. from USA.
Regards
Bernd
