Cage dis-assembly

Kiknskreem Nov 18, 2005 12:11 PM

Hi all, I'll be needing either a Vision, Animal-Plastics, or some such similar large cage in the future for my burm. Once put together, is it possible to take these types of cages apart?

Vision: No, because there is nothing to assemble or take apart, other than the glass doors (so yes for the doors.) Visions are 1-piece molded plastic.

Animal Plastics: Yes

Visionarium: Yes

Boaphile: No, all glued together, so no assembly either.

Cool Critters by JJ: No, glued.

Herpcages.com: No, glued.

Cheapcages.com: No, glued.

Dis-assembly is one of the main advantages of AP Cages and Racks in my opinion. Cages and Racks represent a considerable investment. When I shopped for new racks earlier this year my top priority was that the racks be a one time purchase. I didn't want to end up selling them because they didn't work well or selling them because they are too hard to move in the event that I relocate. AP Cages and Racks come dis-assembled and they assemble in just a few minutes. This makes it much easier to ship or relocate them. They also work very well.
I had a boaphile 421, 4 footer. Just a couple of months after it arrived I made a hard decision. I sold off my boa collection. A couple of the snakes shipped but most were picked up. Nobody needed the cage. It was tougher to sell because I could not ship it. Finally I sold it locally and took a significant loss for a cage that was only 2-3 months old. The cage did work well, was easy to clean, 2X heat did the job, etc. They are just hard to resell, ship, or relocate.
