How big of a tank for 2 adult leos???

bmills Jul 22, 2003 07:59 PM

Is it possible to keep to leos in a 10 gallon tank? I planned on keeping my 3 leos in a 20 gallon long, but i just found out one was a male, so I can't put him in because I don't want to have to deal with babies yet, not experienced enough. So instead of taking up the big tank to school, I was wondering if it was possible to keep 2 leos in a 10 gallon. I would appreciate all of your input, thanks in advance.

Hey,

I've kept my adults two per 10 gallon. Although some of my bigger males and larger females seemed kind of cramped in there. I dont believe it would have hurt them at all, all were eating and acting like they always do. I really think it depends on the keeper. Some, like me, will say "Sure keep two per 10 gallon". While others will say "No way, theres not enough room". Just make sure you have the necessities (yup butchered that)in the tank and they should be fine.

Hope this helped,
Richie

if you have the 20gal long tank available to you, then use that. your geckos will be happier that way.

I'd say your geckos would be happier and healthier in the big tank, making it well worth the hassle of moving it.
Also, nice that you want to wait and gain more experience before letting them breed. Very responsible.
