The plastic pieces are just like really fancey electrical tape. I've just used the tape and had no problems. As for the other ends - TAPE, TAPE, TAPE!!! I haven't personally experienced it, but it will shock the begeebees out of you. If it'll shock, I assume it's a fire hazard as well. Have fun and good luck!! You've just made your life easier

sp tape the metal too?
I bought eletrical tape but I didn't tape up the metal should have I done that?
I just set up the whole cage and geckos are in and is kinda a mess to move. Will it be ok for a week or so, I feel I have mess with themm too much already
i use the plastic insulaters with a spot odf super glue to hold them together just seems more durable to me. Tape the metal sides on the other end! These are open if you touch both at once they will straighten your hair believe me. That brush on electrical tape works just dandy if you know the product I am talking about. I even put some on the terminals inside the plastic clips.
