Sad day today

jonnyt21 Nov 18, 2005 03:36 PM

This morning i went to feed my 2 D. Tincotorius and found the smaller of the two dead, face down on the dirt. I was totally shocked because i thought these two frogs were doing very well in my care. I have had them since June of this year. I really liked the little one because he was more outgoing than the bigger one. I dont know the sexes of either so they were distinguished by size. Anywho, i was just wondering what the cause of death was? Maybe parasitic? The frogs are kept in a 20 gallon, false bottom vivarium. It has 4 live plants and java moss. coco fiber mixed with orchid bark as a substrate. I feed them everyday to every second day with fruitflies. Every thirdish feeding i dust the flies with dendrocare. I just dont know what happend to my little guy....

PS: Now the other frog is all alone. Should I get another frog to keep it company? I think it is probably lonely in there all by itself. Actually as im typing this it almost appears that the frog is staring out at me from inside the vivarium?

I forgot to mention that the frog was very skinny and it almost felt like the skin was hangin off of it when i picked it up. He ate more than the bigger one as well so i am very confused.
