Substrate for a Mexican Black King

abishai Nov 18, 2005 03:55 PM

Hello all!
I was just wondering if anyone had tried sand for a mid-sized king. I wanted to make the enclosure a bit more appealing to the eye and the wife

Anyone tried this?
Thanks

Stick with aspen bedding or newspaper. Although it's nice looking, sand can be a problem if ingested. Most experts will tell you not to use sand.

I don't feed in the tank, so ingestion shouldn't be a problem. I mostly was concerned with scale irritation.
Thanks for the reply
