Petsmart geckos.. dare I even ask....

TangerineKing Nov 19, 2005 09:28 AM

Well I went to Petsmart the other day and they have TWO Tangerine babies there... $30 a piece. I was seriously consiering buying at least one but I don't know if that's exactly a good idea. I've seen some other threads about getting geckos at Petsmart but can't rememebr the exact advice given.

Any could be given here because I am still contemplating.. thanks.

Every gecko at petsmart isn't going to be sick. In my opinion from the stores in my area petsmart is a lot cleaner then petco. I bought a gecko from petco about 2 years ago and it's 88g. I've had one sick gecko out of about 5 from petco, and the one that was sick they allowed me to take back and I had a gecko that came out to about 70 g but I sold him.
I just bought her from petco on monday.

Yeah, generally from what I've seen Petsmart is a lot better then Petco at least in my area anyway. My petco has about 20 leo's in a cage about the size of a shoebox. About half of them are on their second tails, have large patches of unshed skin or have pretty bad scarring. My Petsmart has two or three per cage at most.

If the PetSmart has a vet clinic check to see if they will look at it. Some will some won't and some do have vets with a background in herps.
