I am so confused about what Plants to use for my Veiled and Panther Chameleons.
I know everyone suggest either Pothos for vines. Ficus for tree, and even a Umbrella plant.

I understnad about the Pothos, but there seems to be different ones so I was wandering if anyone knew a scientific name or a botanical name for the best choice.

The same with the Umbrella plant. There are all kinds of different ones. Does anyone know that right ones name?

Now to the Ficus. There are also a few diferent ones, but the big problem is that these are freakin trees, so how in the world can you really use these?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
even web sites that have the info wouldbe nice.
Thanks

Look for a "Schefflera Umbrella Plant" a "Ficus Benjaminas" and Pothos are geerally all the same with varying leaf colours. I beleive all are safe to use without problems.

Although, as with any plants, make sure no sap gets in the chameleons eyes.

Walk into any Home Depot or Lowes, etc, and I do not think they sell a plant that you would have to be concerned about, thorns and otherwise. Use some basic common sense of course ... no cacti ..... just whether or not it looks sturdy enough to support your animal, and is appealing to you. Some plants can be problematic to keep alive, but that is not a bother of your pet. Every "toxic plant" list that I have ever seen was based on toxicity to mammals and humans, and have kept many chameleons on such "toxic" plants with no ill effects. All of you basic household type plants are very safe.
