THE STAR (Petaling Jaya, Malaysia) 18 November 05 Immigration man dies trying to kill python (Mohamad Yazid Keling )
Malacca: Batu Pahat Immigration chief Mohamad Yazid Keling died of a heart attack after he collapsed while trying to catch a python.
His younger brother, who did not want to be named, said Mohamad Yazid, 48, and his wife heard noises behind their house in Bakar Batu in Melaka Tengah.
They found the six-metre long python crawling near the chicken coop at 4.30am.
He said Mohamad Yazid managed to coil a rope around the snake.
“He collapsed while he was hitting the snake with an iron rod,” the brother said.
Mohamad Yazid’s wife Bedah Mohamad, 45, was with him during the incident while their three children were sleeping.
“It came as a shock to me because my brother was a very healthy person,” he said, adding that the python escaped into a swamp.
Melaka Tengah police chief Asst Comm Mohd Kasni Mohd Nor said a post mortem showed that Mohamad Yazid died of a heart attack.
