Feeding Question

SlinkyDinky Nov 20, 2005 01:13 AM

I've had my ball python for 3 weeks now. She succesfully ate for teh first time last Wenesday. Right before that she got real active, looking around and exploring her aquarium, I figured she was hungry, apparently she was. She spent a couple days relaxing, and today she's back to her earlier behaviour, crawling all around. Is it ok to feed her again this soon? What I've read says to feed once a week...but I'm wonering, if she's acting hungry, is it ok to feed more often? She's about a year old now. Are there negative health risks with this? I mean I've heard of the risk of obesity, but if she's young and growing, is this an issue? Thanks for any advice you can give me!

I would wait an entire week. then try to put in TWO of what you gave her last. And if she eats both then you should probably feed her the next size up or just 2 a week. But just because shes moving doesnt mean shes really hungry.

hopefully that helps.

Oh ya if you do what you have been doing and measure her weight say.. every 2 weeks, then record her weight. you can see if she is gaining weight or not. if she is losing weight then you need to feed her more than you are.

keep us posted
