Brumation...

funnyman527 Nov 20, 2005 02:28 AM

Anyone else's Uro begining to brumate? My little guy is spending all day sleeping in his underground tunnel. My only concern is whether he was well hydrated before he started this. I'm wondering if i should pull him out myself and hydrate him, and give him a good lookover before he continues???

Any thoughts or comments are welcomed.

Thanks,

~Eric~

Yeah, but I don't want to brumate my "guys". Last spring, my Roxy laid 19 eggs to my surprise. i don't want brumation nor any mating.

sometimes i don't see helga or hugo for a couple days, usually helga and hugo wakes up for a couple hours, but then again, he sleeps alot more now too. however, i have not seen them go more than two days. usually on the third, they will both emerge, eat, poop and go back to bed. so i just let them do what they want, but i keep going through my motions, i am not lowering their lights or temps or anything
hugo i don't mind waking up, helga i am afraid of, you never know how she will react, sometimes she can get a wee bit tiffy and give me the s-dance and hisses

I finally saw my guy today. Got him some tasty greens, gave him a nice soak (much to his dismay), and helped him out with nice tail shed. Perhaps I'm just not around when he's out basking. Able to be around at home longer on the weekends, ya know?
