Geckos in one cage?

RedLeo16 Nov 20, 2005 10:42 AM

Hi, I have 2 Leopard Geckos. One male and one female. They are in a 95 gallon tank. Thing is, I love leopard Geckos and I wanted to know if i could get another Leo in that same cage. So I guess that's my question. How many male/female can i have in a 95 gallon tank?

That's an enormous cage! You can easily up it to 3 females & 1 male & have a nice breeding colony. Just make sure there's plenty of hides & water.

I would also said that also depends on dimension and type of the cage.
There is also 100 G "high tank" on market for chameleons or iguanas and is not good for leopard geckos...

If you can easily house between 4-6 geckos in a 40 gallon breeder tank, you can easily house between 8-10 geckos but only one being a male. Gilbery007 is right, you will need a lot of hide spots for that many leos.

new to leopard geckos, but i'm in the process of building my 3 redfoot tortoises a new and larger enclosure...once they move out, i have an empty 40 gal breeder with all of the lighting/heating needs, etc for some kind of a lizard...seems the leopards geckos are real interesting and seem to be relatively easy to keep...glad to hear that i wouldn't need to build them something larger at some point...only other possibility was a bearder dragon, but they need a little too much space and heat...and i still think the geckos are cooler looking anyway...i was thinking 1 male and i guess 2 females or maybe 3...is that something which you'd have to decide from the beginning or can you add a female or 2 at a later time? any other thoughts? i'd obviously have the set up the tank differently (substrate, etc), but that's ok...
