Bayou, that is a beautiful snake! In my opinion, surpassing retic pythons for their colour/pattern with all the nerodia advantages. Really, really nice! One day I hope to be blessed with a pair that looks that sharp.

What a beauty. Do they keep their orange eyes in your area? I photographed one earlier this year that had bright orange eyes. I wondered if it was a regional thing. Although a few years ago I chased some huge rhombifers around ina draining rice paddy in central Arkansas that seemed to have bright orange eyes.

The ones around Houston, TX seem to keep them rather well. Andy

Nice snake...I still wish I had held on to one I had found. I had a bag of hognose though that I didn't want to spook but on the other hand I did not want to carry this rhombifera all the way back to the car. It was actually bluish turquoise...VERY interesting and beautiful snake. Its temperment was nothing unusual though...I took some nasty bites to the hand lol. Andy
