Adam.
It is so hard to catch him with the end of his tail spread. I am going to wait till he is a week or two old and then put him on a white piece of paper. He/She actaully has a fork in the tail...it is the last quarter that is split...he/she should be given a dragon name......It is too bad we decided to get out chameleons or he would be an awesome one to keep.
I am sorry to hear that you are getting out of chameleons. When you decide to sell it, I will definetly be interested. Keep us posted.

One wonderful thing this forum has done is to make all of us aware of our responsibilities regarding these wonderful animals. I raise Spanish Norman horses, and the time commitment as well as the financial responsibiltiy are becomming too much We just recently had our female to the vet with an MBD problem (her jaw became deformed four months ago). She is now on proper supplementation (I had thought I was giving her proper supplementation..but each chameleon is different)and has almsot completely recoved. My male received parasites from crickets (vendor will remain nameless) receieved which got a few trip to the vet also. Both are on the mend and doing great, but now we have 24 eggs hatching...36 next month and 30 more in two months....just the 11 that have hatched (three were born dead) have just about done it for me. They deserve a better owner than I and before we get to the point where we cannot take care of them, we want to get them to good homes.
Although I'm sure you are a wonderful chameleon parent
We can tell you give of yourself alot for your critters.
I do however understand your feelings as far as spreading yourself and time, care, and finances, TOO THIN so to speak. It takes so much of all these things to care for them all.
They are amazing creatures lizards, I know, I have many,
it takes hours each day, including morning, throughout the day, and then more time preparing and caring for the NOCTURNAL CREW to wake after the daytime scaleys go off to bed.
Thank God I'm home during the day, I would not be able to do it all.
So yes, I get where you are coming from. And the horses, ahhhh my goodness how awesome they are, I have always loved them, never had the chance or space to own one but WOW, what incredibly lovely beasts they are.
I wish you all the VERY BEST with them and all your future baby chameleons that are now eggbound, LOL
I know we will still talk with you often, hehehehee

Why not keep just the one?
As a pet. No breeding intended.
Keep the one with the split tail if it is healthy.
If it grows to a full size adult, it could catch a heafty price.
Good luck with the clutch.
