missing scutes

hello, i just got a sucata from a local reptile expo he is about 5 inches long at seems really healthy , the only thing rong with him is he is missing allot of scutes on his front legs, the skin is healed and healthy but i was wondering if the scutes will grow back or is it a permenent loss and they wont grow back and will it end up harming him lator on in life ? thanks aaron
