What type of gecko is this?

hunterjackson Nov 20, 2005 10:25 PM

I think its a Mediterranean Gecko, Hemidactylus turcicus. I want your opinion though.

A person brought it in who found it in their package which they received from overseas. The package originated in China. It was in the bottom of a pot.

The gecko is 3/16" Snout to vent, he has lost his tail. Clear, yet pink. can see stomach and insides etc through skin.

Here are pics.

Oh, weird. I posted once here a long time ago asking the same thing with a picture of the same kind of gecko. I was told it was a Mediterranean Gecko just like you are thinking. My dad found it on a building site, we figured it came over in a bag of sand or a unit of bricks.
