Finally!!! after 70 days the F2 Okeetees are out

John Q Jul 22, 2003 10:02 PM

I've never had to wait so long for a clutch. Day 70 was on July 18th and the first ones hatched out. Two more today and one egg left to pip. I incubated with a hovabator set to low 80's.
Hopefully they'll grow up to look nicer than mom and dad.

Congrats! Can you show another pic of the parents, particularly the larger (or at least larger in the photo) one. It has an interesting contrast of colors from the top to its sides...looks neat....just wondering what it looks like from another angle.

Sorry but that's the only pic of the male. I'm holding back several in hopes of keeping that look. I've also got another male coming in from F1 breeders from the same wc parents. My friend is picking one out from a clutch produced by another breeder. He'll ship him to me this fall. The ones that don't turn that two tone pattern will stay as red as the female. In my opinion, you can't lose. You either get the two tone or an awesome super red. Not bad either way.
