Prospective GTP owner

Hello everyone. I don't have a green tree python yet, but it has been my "dream snake" for a few years now. I find them amazing, and would love to own one.

I tend to find that a lot of breeders sell "high end" GTP's. All I really want is a low end, normal GTP. The lowest price I've seen for one is $200, which is pretty reasonable. But I was wondering if I could find my low end GTP at an even lower cost? Does anyone know any information about thus?

Thanks.

Well if you look hard enough you may find one for under 200 bucks but you may not want what you get. Heck 200 or even 300 is dirt cheap for a Chondro. For 200 your looking at a farmed baby that probably just got in the country and who knows if it'll eat ETC ETC. Spend some more money and get one that is established.

I'm not knocking Farm raised babies or imports(many people list them as CBB which they are but they were born in Indo. and shipped here) If whoever is selling them puts a little time in these Farmed babies and gets them established then all should go well. But no one I know of can get them established and IE having fed at least 10 times for them, and still sell them for 200 bucks. Spend some more green for your Green tree, both you and your snakes are likely to be happier if you do. Randy

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate the input. I agree with you. I honestly didn't think about the feeding aspect. I'd be much happier with a chondro that fed and had a nice disposition.

Thanks again.

low end chondros CBB cost 350 - 400 dollars, captive breeders are giving them away at that price.

You cant bargin shop for these animals though every one does and learns the hard way, or get's lucky.

Either way you wont truly know the value of these animals until you have a cbb chondro. The difference is night and day.

Compare it to trying to buy a Porshe for Volkswagon prices.

I seen some this weekend for $150 each you do the work. Would I buy them? Not a chance.. You get what you pay for with these guys cheaper is not better. Save a little more money then buy from a trustworthy breeder it will save you a lot of trouble.

a $150 GTP is not a VW, it's a bicycle with two flat tires and no seat, ouch!

Think thats bad they lowered the price to $115 each, I just can't see these little guys making it. I bet we see some sad customers in a month saying these are to hard to keep alive stay away from them.
