hmmm ... im no box turtle expert but my three toed doesnt make a noise while eating ... what kind of noise is it anyway ? and what do you feed them ?
I think it is normal for some of them. I have only the one who makes noise while she's eating, I've wondered if malocclusion is the reason why & if that is also the reason why her beak will overgrow while the rest of them don't have that beak problem. Malocclusion only means the jaw may be misaligned & that isn't really a serious problem. She's never had a problem eating her food but the sound can be a little annoying for me to hear, but that's MY problem. lol
Over the years on various forums I've heard from a lot of people who have said that they have noisy eaters but it's only noise.

My ornate box turtle makes a squeeky noise when he eats. I don't think its because of any problem, he goes to the vet regularly and always gets a clean bill of health.
meal worms, veg, red worm, beetles, anything they catch in their pen. They are offered: pumpkin, hibicus flower, turtle canned food, cat food (bufos eat it), lettuce but they dont eat it. they have made noise since I got em 18 months ago. Hi Haw'n/p
