snail eating snakes

reptilekeeper19 Nov 21, 2005 09:25 AM

I didn't know where to post this so I decided to post it here. I'm interested in getting a snail eating snake. I have a steady supply of slugs so I could feed it. Where could I get one? How high of humidity? What size of cage? Any help is appreciated.

What species? not that it matters because none are readily available. The following species go by "snail eating" or "slug eating":
Pareas sp.
Sibon nebulata
Imantodes sp.
Aplopeltura boa
Duberria atriventris

I'm interested in Sibon nebulata

I have never heard this very erroneus name applied to ANY of the Imantodes species. When did this start? Dick

Northern Redbelly Snake ( Storeria O. Occipitomaculata ) is the low maintenance slug eating small snake, slug is it's most favorite food and the next will be earth worm.

I guess you get reptile magazine? They had a good article on them. Your best bet is Glades herp email / call them and ask.
I have seen them overseas and they come in drab brown to INCREDIBLE radiant bright colors so if anyone has them you want to see pic of it unless the color doesnt matter to you.
I imagine after that article some places might try to carry them.

Yeah, I read the article and really liked them and want to keep some.

Thanks everyone.
