The larger Ball is a Mojave female for comparison, note the hatchling appears to be a bit darker and have less blushing on the top, much like the Phantoms , I'm not saying this line is guaranteed to be a Phantom or Mojave as they debateably look alot like both to me! Time will tell I guess, whatever it is it's cool, I can't wait to see what the Super looks like! Anthony McCain-McCain's Reptiles.

JP Nov 21, 2005 02:53 PM

really boring.....just a solid white snake with blue eyes. Why bother....just send it to me.

Seriously though.....thats got all the promise in the world when you consider the Mo-javes and the phantom.

MarkS Nov 21, 2005 04:41 PM

You're right, he does look darker then the mojave. It would be cool if this turns out to be a new morph and not just another line of mojave. The one you just produced, is it a male or a female?

He's a male, also he has a slight chance of also being het albino as his mother was a virgin 66% Poss Het albino (the sister to this female proved out to be a normal last year so who knows if this female is also just a normal, seems to me that she has a fair chance of being a het the odds of 2 66% sib females both being normal is less than 25%) if my math is correct, I'll figure it out at some point ... tns4life Nov 21, 2005 04:50 PM

I have a few females that are developing follicles right now that are very similar to the type of snake you have there..Very cool, good luck with that.

Great looking snake anythony! Besides kevin@NERD being upset with you over some spider thing lol.

anthony james mc Nov 21, 2005 05:11 PM

I'm sure Kevin knows all about how rumors spread in this industry, make a note that I'm not the one that started any rumor involving NERD over Spiders or Imported Mojaves, I'm just relaying what I was told and if I've been told I'm sure alot of others have been as well , in otherwords Kevin already would have heard all this making it old news to him , Kevin would have no reason to be mad at me over old rumors. It's people like you that like to stir things up and watch how others react, some people find that funny , I'm not one that does however! I love people that stand on the sideline and run their mouths while the rest of us are actually the ones doing all the hard work!!! Good luck with YOUR projects! Anthony McCain-McCain's Reptiles.

vip3ridae Nov 21, 2005 06:14 PM

Trying to stir something up eh? I'm not the one to err on the side of controversy but it seems that you like dishing it to kevin LoL I don't know what I'm talking about, I'm always happy around the holidays, maybe he did know all those rumors and didn't really care. Still was funny though

anthony james mc Nov 21, 2005 06:28 PM

I have no issues with Kevin, I've known him for about 10 years now, let's drop the subject , obviously this isn't productive info anyway, Kevin would let me know if I stepped out of line, I was just stating what I (and likely others) have been told, regardless Kevin has produced killer morphs for along time now and I am not knocking that fact in any way, he's way ahead of almost all of us so what is the point of bickering over old rumors of where animals originated from? Anthony McCain-McCain's Reptiles.

Someone will half-read your post, take from it that Kev never founded Spiders and that he stole the morph from someone else, then the first herp person they talk to they'll say OMG, did you hear about NERD and Spiders"?

Its just a dangerous way to talk, and not very respectful in my eyes. Even if no harm intended.

Cool snake though. Hope the project is all you want it to be. Sure sounds exciting.

anthony james mc Nov 21, 2005 07:03 PM

I never said anything like that, Kevin did start the Spider gene, I never said otherwise , the part people talk about isn't if he is the founder it is how he found that original male, that's the part that has a couple different conclusions... It doesn't really matter anyways you guys are the ones making a big deal out of it now not me , regardless Kevin still started the project no matter where he found the founding male, I was using the Spider as an example and you guys took it from there!

minifedawg Nov 21, 2005 08:15 PM

Yeah?

I must be in DREAM LAND THEN...

What rumors about the male Spider?? What big secret is that? A guy had it for years that he picked out of a shipment out in CA and did not or was not able to breed it. I saw a picture of it and chased it around for a bit and thought I would never get it.
I eventually was able to get it and the rest is history. Nothing more than that.

As far as some stupid Mojave rumor and NERD's own UNIQUE bloodline????? I have a single imported female that is either a Mojave or a real nice Phantom. She had follicles this year but my male Lesser was a bit young and did not follow through when she was ready... Any other Mojave I have is from the original bloodline- SNAKEKEEPER!!!!!!!! Their snakes make white ones..... I don't think there is anything better about this female except the fact that she is pretty. I don't know if she would make a white snake or any of Ralph's special stuff.....

I must be a sleep in a CAVE where does this stuff come from? Who makes up such dribble? If you DRIBBLE MAKERS are reading this STOP your dribbling........

Go chase some dust bunnies under your bead, I heard they are in season and you need to thin the herd!!!

Grrr........

Hey Kevin - not to change the subject or anything but since you are clearing up rumors regarding the spider, would you mind clearing up the rumors about whether or not you have a homozygous spider and how its doing? Enquiring minds and all that.....

I am not aware of having a SUPER Spider. I have as an example Breeder Spider males from Spider to Spider that I use for breeding. I got a bit distracted with following the progress if one of these males makes all Spiders. I typically cycle multiple males through my girls. From what I can tell I do not clearly have a Super male. I have as an example a male poss super this year make all Spiders but I did not follow him up to other girls without involving other males. I focus much of my attention on my Bumble Bee males since I love that morph! Building a new building and moving has been just a bit distracting.

As far as a lethal gene thing, not a chance!

Thanks for clearing all that up Kevin... I wasn't trying to start anything here , sometimes this forum seems to get us off track of the subjects at hand... Regardless I apologize if I said anything that I should not have. Anthony McCain-McCain's Reptiles. PS thanks for the FACTS on the Spider origin and Mojave lines your working with , makes total sence to me!

Just remember many rumors are nothing but nonsense and it is just a bit frustrating having to defend yourself against make believe!

Yes I agree...... Just like that vile rumor that coral glows were some kind of designer morph...... I wonder how that got started???????????? Everyone knows that 'DESIGNERS' come about from mixing one morph to another.......... However the coral glows came about just because they are daughters of the white smoke........... No 'DESIGNER' involved........

Gosh, how DO these rumors start?????????????

Kevin, did you squash any of the Rumours in you NEW BOOK? Free plug, free plug....It would be interesting to hear where the popular morphs came from, sure many come over from Africa, but there must be some good stories on how they were aquired. I would have asked for a signed copy of your book if you would have put a pic of my Ember Ball in it

Your Ember Ball? Which one is that?

There will be a new edition to keep up with the morphs, we can put it in there. There are a number of morphs taht did not make it into the book as it stands now...

The book is due in the States soon......

It is 100% done and being printed witha short version for pet stores and such right behind it....

There are some little stories in there....I have a part I call the Dark Side of Africa and a basic description of a "Ball Lord"....

I think it will be a decent read and I have a bit of my odd ways in it to amuse or confuse. Dull should not be one of the chapters!

I can't wait to see the finished product.... I am a bit fearful of the inevitable mistakes but we shall see.

Lots of COOL morph pics....lots!

Kevin, this is my Ember Ball. I thought it was a Hypo at first, you and several others said, "I don't think it is a Hypo," and now I agree, and think it is a Fire. I talked to you about the two babies at the Anaheim show.

VoiceOfTruth Nov 23, 2005 01:16 AM

Nice looking ball..... Are you SURE thats not a lemon pastel???? In any case I love the look.

VOT

EmberBall Nov 23, 2005 08:51 AM

Possitive it is not a Pastel, not even a Lemon. Here are the parents....Bell line male Ghost and my unusual/Fire female. The first two pics are of the mom, last pic, the Orange ghost, is a pic of the dad.

VoiceOfTruth Nov 23, 2005 01:05 AM

Now now Kevin..... I wrote to gail on this subject and she says that her spider mojaves (which are unfortunatly no longer in her care) are from nerd line mojaves.... How can that be right if your female is just now producing folicles??? I may have gotten this wrong...... I do frequently get things wrong........ Please enlighten us so that we all may know the facts..........

VOT

gailt Nov 24, 2005 05:27 PM

I said I have seen pictures of Mojaves in Africa, and that NERD has had a Mojave for a few years.
