trouble sexing....

I own a number of leos, but this one is puzzling. It was sold to me as a female. It doesn't have large pores, but it does have the large bulge of a male. It's probably about 6-7 months old. I'll post a picture when I get my camera back, any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Some females will develop fat deposits that look a lot like hemipenes. She could also be a late blooming he (I think that this is less likely). Take a magnifying glass and examine the pores, if they look like they have an openning in the center (a little pit), you may have a male on your hands.

I find bulges fairly reliable by 6 months. Most of my juvi males dont show the enlarged pores until somewhat later, closer to 9-12 months. Provided the bulges are in the right place, under the tail behind the cloaca. Females fat bulges are usually just in front or overlapping the cloaca. Do post pics tho! side view is best for examing bulging.
