Does anyone know why the bullsnake population in Iowa is disappearing at a VERY Alarming rate?
I did not see even a roadkill this season. 5 years ago I could drive a stretch of road and always see a Bullsnake. The foxsnakes our doing just fine.
I'm sure that having a road every mile is probably the main culprit. But I was curious if there is something out their like a disease that I was not aware of.
Also, if anyone is willing to share any known "island populations", I would appreciate it. I would like to get some decent photos before it's to late! As I see it this snake needs to be put on the endangered species list for at least in Iowa.
