HELP ME PLEASE! Skin problem!!

kimax Nov 22, 2005 08:31 PM

I have an eastern box turtle that is around 20. I acquired him from a previous owner and have had him now one year. Today, I noticed that the top of his head seems almost raw on the sides yet crispy on the top. He has been eating normally, but i dont know what this could be. He has a humid hide of the bed a beast stuff that I keep fairly moist because it is so dry up here. His warm side of the tank is 85 and he has an 8.0 Repti Glo light as well. Please help me!! WHAT CAN I DO? WHAT COULD IT BE?

Your turtle should be fine until morning when you can call your veterinarian for an appointment. If you need to find a reptile savy vet, ask for referals from your local clinic and/or reptile club. You can also try www.arav.com and it's link to herpvetconnect.

Good luck

Ian
