Hi-yellow .

Lyn Nov 25, 2005 07:11 PM

The term High Yellow seems to be tossed around a lot more loosely nowadays than it used to. I don't know what the current definition is? Is it based soley on the background coloration? If so, then we need to have some kind of color wheel to determine at which point the yellow is yellow enough to be considered High Yellow. When I first got into Leos, the hinging point was whether they have spots on their back legs. Does anyone still go by that or is that out the door now? Regardless of what these two end up to officially be, I think they are both very pretty (or hansome if they are boys).

There Not normals this is a normal. And leo 1 is't (aberrant) in any way.Leo 2 has a slight bow in it's first band but still that not really enought to be calling it (aberrant). Both are strate forward (Hi-yellows).

I won't call it high yellow unless it is significantly less spotting on the rear legs, like only 3 spots or so. These two have much more than that, though they are faded. If I bought them as high yellow, I would be upset. I'm not going to argue with you. You wanna call them high yellow, go ahead.

Can you post a picture of your two hi-yellow so i can see what you class as hi-yellow.

>>0.2 Hi-Yellow Leopard gecko (Beatrice, Pepper)

geckogrl6 Nov 28, 2005 11:18 PM

I don't have a good pic of Beatrice's hid legs, tho I do have one of her fat armpits I posted awhile back. The one on the right here is Peper, and you can see she has no spots on her hind legs. The one on the left is BJ.

There very pretty great examples of hi-yellows.But i'm still happy to call the other hi-yellows but every ones intitle to there own opinions so we'll just have to agree to diagree .There are three stranes of hi-yellows ones that are close to normal ones in the middle Grade-(A) examlpes(like yours) And ones close to hypo .Leo 1 you may doubt that it's a hi-yellow but leo 2 there is no doubt at all that that is a hi-yellow.
