WHO IS THE BEST "BIG BOY" BREEDER IN THE BUSINESS???

malesh02 Nov 22, 2005 11:14 PM

Which breeder has had the largest, most influential impact on the ball python world? If you HAD to choose just one, who would it be and why.

I'll start the ball rolling and claim NERD as the breeder to beat. Good luck......

My favorite "BIG BOY" is Ralph-- nothing aginst the rest of the bunch. They all seem like nice people that love their Balls, but I started with Ralph in 02 and he's my guy.
Thanks for all the help Ralph!

VoiceOfTruth Nov 23, 2005 01:42 AM

I'm not interested in BIG BOYS..... I'd rather put my money with a BIG MAN of a BIG WOMAN of the trade........... Hasn't this biz yet grown beyond the 'good ol' boy' phase????????

Ralph talks with you, emails you, gives you advice, doesn't cut you short on the phone.........if he thinks your not a customer........he goes the extra mile

He started the Ball Python craze with the albino. Others continued and created large collections, but he's the "Father of Ball Pythons".

CURRENTLY Most influential: Ralph Davis... Continues to have forsight and creativity, and lots of personality.

Favorite Big Guy: Greg Grazianni- Just a super, down to earth person. Quality, quality, quality without the 'Drama'

Midsize guy to watch: Steve Roussis super person, super proffesional w/ great passion for his awsome animals.

we're talking about a guy that produces 500 plus cluthes a year. spent 1.2 mil alone on imports last year.

yet you never hear a word from him nor do you see shameless advertising attempts.

BHB is all that is ball pythons

1.2 million on imports.... What did he import the whole damn western africa?

ChrisGilbert Nov 23, 2005 02:53 PM

I know he brought in two leucistics from a "new" platinum. Sean from EBN has the "Platinum?" from the litter. Then there is the Sunset, and I am sure many new morphs. At $70k or more for some NEW morphs 1.2 Million isn't much.

jyohe Nov 23, 2005 09:32 PM

...he brings in tens of thousands of balls too......

.......when I wanted an albino....he sold me one at my price with no hesitation.........and has always talked to us like he knew us all forever........

He and Lori have always been nice and friendly..........and treated us all here well.......

..........and no he doesn't brag or cry in here at all......

I had to add me $0.02 to this.

The best "big boy" is a tie between N.E.R.D, and Ralph Davis. Afterall, where would we be without the spider, and Ralph because well he is the KING, and where would we be without the Platty gene.

The best "up and comer" I agree with someone else, Sean at EBN. Watch him.

The best "little guy" Brandon Boeke, of Priceless Pythons. Super great guy, 100% honest, and will talk your ear off about ball pythons, retics, burms anything, if you can get ahold of him between college and getting married(mistake by the way ). Super great guy with super animals. Watch out for him in the coming years.

While I am saying who is great, Mike Wilbanks is a great guy as well. I have never bought anything from him, but the customer service he provides is excellent. Always has time to call back and BS. GREAT GUY.

"They all seem like nice people that love their Balls,"

Only on this forum would that statement exist

Who's the best? Depends on who has the hottest morph, which will vary from time to time. Ralph's a friend, I know Kevin, bought my BHs from the Bells....but only Kev has been on Conan O'Brien assisting Steve Irwin. Crikey!

Each of these people is "great" in their own way. None of them are perfect. To me this question is like asking "Who is the best football player in the NFL?" Best at what? Quarterbacking? Punt returns? Receiving? Who has stood the test of time?

daniel1983 Nov 24, 2005 07:36 AM

I agree with Christy. Also....

How can some of you even make a judgement on who is the 'best' without having purchased animals from EVERY big breeder out there? How many of you have actually purchased from EVERY big breeder? How many of you have met them all, seen all of their facilities, etc..? If you are saying 'this guy' is the best, but have never purchased animals from any of them or just one or two of them....what are you basing your decision on??...ha ha...everyones websites, forums, and what other people say?????

I cannot make a comment on any of the big breeders because I have never purchased from any of them...yet. But for the up and coming "Medium Guy" my vote also goes to SEAN at EbN/Ball Python Morphs...I have purchased from him and have been given a tour of his shop...he was a great guy to do business with!

cas0914 Nov 24, 2005 09:26 PM

How about Tony Hurt. I bought some animals from him this year, and he is a super nice guy, and been very helpful with all my questions. Chris Srbinovich
