im looking at cages for my boa who at the moment is about 3.5' long. the two sizes in my price range that im looking at are 48"L x 24"W or 72"L x 18"W. what would be the better size?

48"X 24" are good base dimensions for most boas for their entire lives. Unless you have a large female BCC or Colombian, you shouldn't need larger. And a foot in height is good.
