Baby ball wont eat???

TLocke Nov 23, 2005 12:46 PM

I'm sure you guys hear this all the time, from the research I've been doing it's pretty common, but the only other snake I've had is a corn and he'll eat anything. My ball was hatched in July I believe, I got him at a reptile show on Oct. 3, the breeder said he ate on Oct. 1 and had been eating live mouse hoppers. He won't eat anything for me. I've tried frozen mouse pinkies, fuzzies and hoppers, live rat pinkies, live mouse hoppers and fuzzies. He is starting to look a little thin and I am worried. His cool temp is 80 and basking is 90, one cool and one warm hide spot, 50%humidity (can't get it any higher!?!?) and is otherwise very active. I have other types of reptiles and some do slow down this time of year, but they SLOW down entirely (not very active, not eating much, etc.) Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tracy

How big is the enclosure? Sometimes when the the enclosure is too large, they might not feel as secure and as a result, won't eat. If that's the case, put the baby in something smaller. Good luck.
