we have has this female for about 11 months. her name is Jimmy.

my friend couldnt keep her anymore so i took her in, she is a proven female and has the best temperment. she has only eaten for me about 4 times in our care. and she would only eat gerbils. after recently loosing a beautiful female i said to myself im not going to lose another one. so i went and bought all the small rats that we need and i also bought a baby rat that looked like this

i put the baby rat in her home to see if she'd eat it. and she did! so when she was done i put one of the smallest of the small rats in with her and she went after that rat in a heart beat.
i have done this to her for two weeks now and i think when i put a baby rat in first it helps to build up her confidence more and kinda tricks her too into eating a small to medium rat. she is looking great now and i can see that her body if filling out and putting on some weight.
iam going to do this with the baby rat for a while, and then try having her eat just a small rat. ill keep you posted on what happens.
