heat mat question

Canio Nov 25, 2005 05:41 AM

Does anyone know the difference between the Hagen Exo Terra Desert Heatwave heat mat and the Hagen Exo Terra Heat Wave Rain Forest heat mat? One says it simulates desert heat while the other says it promotes humidity. Yet neither mentions temps.

I assume the desert is hotter, but I do not know for sure. Also wouldn't any heat mat add humidity assuming the substrate was wet (such as damp bed a beast or the like)?

Just curious if anyone new.

Thanks

I'm not sure, I've not heard of the rain forest one...
But since Lepoard geckos don't need high humidity, I wouldn't even bother. It might be good for a belly heat oriented tropical speicies...?
