Tokay bark recording

antonm Jul 23, 2003 02:34 AM

I just recorded my tokay barking at me after I hammered some nails in (I guess he thought the smacks were rival geckos) and now have this 18 second tokay bark wave file. Now I imagine this would piss him off greatly if I replayed it back to him. Has anyone ever done this? Can anyone see any good in this experiment (eg. simulating natural territory wars)? Maybe I can play it and then have him bark and do it back and forth a few times then turn it off and make him feel like he won or something. Maybe it would make him feel better about himself? Anyone got input on this?

I play one every once in a while for my Tokays. Gets them all out and active especially the females

I have tokay tanks distributed over my house and the males of course can hear each other. Sometimes that stimulates them, sometimes not.
Since they bark more when they hear a new tokay, I assume, they learn to know each others sound.

Yeah mine sounds very similar to the male ones. A bit louder and more high pitched (probably because hes younger). If you still want my recording give me your email and I'll send it to you since I have no site to upload it to
