I'm a little confused.
shouldn't a candy cane have contrasting bright red (or orange) on a stark white.
The brighter the color, whiter the white and cleaner the transition between saddles and background, the better the candy cane?
Wouldn't a faded pattern be exactly opposite of what a candy cane should be?
It sounds like a very interesting snake and I would love to see pics but it just doesn't sound like what I have seen described as candy cane.
I haven't, and don't keep up with candy canes and their progression, though, so I could be way off base, here.
