Not Enough Handling - A Problem?

ozmotorsport Jul 23, 2003 04:05 AM

I have a 6 month old Diamond Pythin. While I keep its enclosure clean and keep up the fresh water I can go a coule of weeks without handling the snake.

This snake has never been nippy so I've never had a reason to need to get it used to me.

If they are easy to handle to start with is there a chance they will become a bit nippy if I do not keep the handling up or will it remain docile becuse that's the way it started?

A sixth month old that has been previously held for some time and seems tractable should not be a problem in the future. Something you might want to consider though is if you don't handle it, and it's only interaction with you is feeding, you may take a feeding response bite on accident. And those are the ones you really do want to take. One every two weeks or some and I think you'd be fine.
