My New Water Dragon

lunchbox359 Nov 26, 2005 11:09 AM

Hello Everyone! After keeping anoles and red-eye tree frogs and a pygmy chameleon for a while I thought it was time to get a lizard I've always wanted... So I got my new little guy Bossk... I'm pretty sure he's a boy but who knows at this stage. The reptile store had about 20 of them to choose from so the owner and I tried to pick the most male looking of the bunch.
What's everyone think of my new guy? I just wanted to introduce myself and my new guy here since I'm sure I'll have problems I'll need help with in the future.
Right now he's in a 40Gallon brooder tank but I've got plans to turn that into the base of a much taller enclosure in the near future.
Thanks for looking!
-Dan

Welcome! there's a 50% chance that he's a male, so we'll keep our fingers crossed for you. he's a very fine looking fellow. A little thin, but I think a few weeks in your capable hands will remedy that. Good luck!

My 3 CWD-Avanyu, Tripod and Drago

Thanks for the compliments! I thought he seemed a little thin, he's already gained weight in the week since I got him tho, I do have a tendancy to overfeed my pets but I thought he needed it for a bit. He even ate some salad I gave to him, I was really surprised at that... he really seems to love superworms and he's always climbing his branch and diving into the water, he certainly likes to swim... It doesn't really matter I guess if he's a boy or a girl, he's pretty cool and I gave him a boy's name, Bossk (he's a lizard guy from EmpireStrikesBack).
The one thing I noticed is that he's using one spot in his tank for a bathroom and not the water like everyone said he would, is it normal for a waterdragon to pick a bathroom area like that?
Thanks for the compliments and I'll post more pictures as I remodel his cage!
