Is my yearling Eastern King too small?

cee4 Nov 26, 2005 04:30 PM

I was under the impression these were good size snakes but maybe Im comparing his growth rate to my ball or boa and expecting too much
Anyway his hatch date is 7-15-04 and he is now 1yr and 4mnths old and only 27 inches.
I fed him his first full grown mouse(and it was small) and he struggled with it for 45min before getting it down so Im switching back to two fuzzies...
Here is a not to good pic of him...

If you keep him on 2-3 fuzzies a meal, he'll grow quicker. He is at the right length for his age...

and I guess he's about normal. It just that my anery corn is the same age and already much larger in girth and length..Even head size is bigger, my corn can eat a weanling rat and I wouldnt even consider that for my king..

Depending on locality and bloodlines, some can be larger, others smaller. Yours sounds right on par. Here's a pic of my 04 male.
