kinda nervous

jeune18 Nov 26, 2005 05:14 PM

i know i am probably paranoid because of their little sister who died but i gave the babies some calcium earlier and it is really hard to give them medicine and it kinda bubbled out of gracie's mouth but ever since i gave it to them, they have just been sitting with their eyes closed. i gave them a soak. griffin opens his eyes sometimes, but i picked up gracie and got maybe a little slit of an eye. gracie also looks really thin and has not shown interest in eating crickets yet. i think tomorrow i am going to get some baby food for her to lap at.
they seemed fine yesterday and this morning. think maybe i should lay off the calcium? they still have the twitches sometimes

ok i went ahead and got baby food and gave them both some. griffin has perked up alot, gracie still has her eyes closed but is seeming a little better and she lapped up alot of food. hopefully the food will do the trick.

Just be careful to get the calcium syrup as far to the back of throat as possible, and whatever (liquid) You ever put in. As you can cause fluid in the lungs.

You do not want to see the bubbling Vonnie, it must have gone in too fast, he could not swallow/ or would not.

Glad they seem to be doing better,

i was out of town and the babies were with me and i don't think they liked my friends house, ha ha. they have been little crazy devils since they have been home.
i saw griffin eat a cricket! i saw gracie eyeballing them but she ate alot of baby food today so i don't think she was hungry. i have been mixing the liquid calcium in the baby food and it is much easier to get them to take the medicine that way, as they voluntarily just licked it off the syringe. i think gracie really liked it. she tried to eat the syringe too
there was poop again in the cage and this time it was the same color as the baby food. i am going to try crickets tomorrow and see if gracie wants to eat some of them. i am pretty sure griffin will eat them
well i am off to go watch them glass dance in the corner. i will try to get pictures soon

Being a Mom to lizards is nearly as nerve wracking as being a Mom to a human baby, I have discovered. I'm just always worrying about them!

I hope your babies are doing better today.
