There are several locality updates that have been published in Herpetological Review for milksnakes since Williams did his two editions.

If you are asking if there are differences between the two editions, there are. Williams has added the subspecies accounts for L.t.dixoni and L.t.campbelli in the second edition.

In addition to what Scott mentioned (and without looking at my copies), the other difference that comes to mind is that Williams' second edition reflects the work of Gartska (1982) who demonstrated that L. ruthveni (Queretaro Mtn King) is a species distinct from L. triangulum arcifera. In Williams I, he regards ruthveni as a junior synonym of arcifera; consequently, his account of arcifera is a mish-mash of ruthveni plus arcifera localities and descriptive characters, and thus semi-worthless. And, as Scott indicated, there have been many range extensions and natural history notes that have appeared in print since Williams II. Milksnake aficionados will want both books and then some!

Cheers,

Bob
