Just curious...another Derma question

autotunz Nov 27, 2005 08:14 AM

I was looking at the Photography forum and was admiring Chris H's close up pictures of scales of various snakes. I noticed that the scales of the Angolan look very similar to the scales on the Derma; almost like beads or droplets. The Derma owner still has yet to satisfy everyone's request to show pictures of the Derma's parents.......possibly a cross?

Scales are formed by overlapping flaps in the skin - since there is a lack of scales there is a lack of overlapping which I beleive makes the stand alone scales more beaded looking - you'll notice when you look at areas of the derma where there are normal amounts of scaling they are normal in appearance. The other scaleless snakes also appear beaded. Either that or you can chalk this up to another deforimity the snake has - LOL - but (IMO) unlikely the result of a cross.

Okay do you actuley think he has pics of the parents....its an import...

On his original post where he introduced the Derma he claimed to also have the mother and alluded to her also being Derma - but he has never shown her to anyone that has gone to his place to see the Derma in person nor has he posted any photos - so who knows what his real deal is - he also claims it's co-dom (obviously if the mom and son are both Derma) but sells het siblings for $35K too.

Its unfortunate that someone with a little more ethics didn't get this animal.

I agree with tosha. Also snuior (sorry if I mispelled your name) but why do you know all this wealth of information about his derma? I don't know every single person on these forums nor will I ever but people have made comparisons between you and that other guy. And it seems you always stick up for the derma in any post referring to it. I don't have psychic powers or telepathic powers but I do have computer smarts.... And I do know that it is fairly easy to make 2 or even 10 forum names here on kingsnake.com. Not trying to offend anyone but I can't run from the similarities between you and that other guy. But I'll assume and give you the benefit of the doubt and say you 2 are not the same person.

Never mind, sorry I posted the question. I justed noted a similarity on the scales and thought I might have an idea as to the Derma's genetics. It seems strange that there's all this mystery as to the Derma's lineage.

Snunior, is there a reason it's all so secret????? He's stated that he has the mother...why's it all such a secret? You seem to be "in the know", so share it with us. It all smells a little funky to me.
