well, I took my snakes out of the closet and put them into brumation this morning.
I have 15 in an old store cooler and 6 in the basement/garage. No more room in the cooler.
The cooler has been running at a constant 50 degrees for two weeks now so it should work well.
It is actually in the basement too but at least it stays at a constant temperature.
Last season I had a smaller fridge that only held a couple of snakes so the rest were brumated in the basement/garage. They did ok so the six this season should be fine.
The basement has a tendency towards fluctuating temps but last year it never went below 43 or above 56, at least as far as my thermometers showed, so hopefully all will be well again.
My five largest, healthiest males and my largest female will be my non-cooler snakes.
