rack system

eatinmachine Nov 27, 2005 01:10 PM

I want to build a rack system and have about 44 wide up to like 5 feet tall, and deep I can work with. I want to put like 27 to 35 quart boxes in. My questions are what boxes would work best and what designs would fit like 8 boxes and maybe some shoeboxes. I was thinking like an open rack but I don't know. I would prefer to use more like prefab shelves than have to but the stuff as we just had a flodd in the basement and some of the tools are dead. Thanks for your designs and ideas sorry for being so broad.

To get rid of mites, get some Provent-a-mite from www.pro-products.com. Follow the directions as listed on the can. This stuff really works, safely for the snakes.

As for your rack.. the only pre-fab shelving for larger boxes that can work are doors. I've seen a rack made from inexpensive doors, and it was really nice. You can select boxes from www.reptiletubs.com. The Iris CB-70 is a great box for your gophersnakes and Children's pythons.

........pick a tub (i like the sterilite 27 qt.) and design a rack around it,make up a cut sheet and have a cabinet shop cut the pieces and then you assemble.i've done this with all my racks and it works great.BTW the 27 qt. tub is the same heigth as the 41qt. rack.have fun!
