For good breeders, check the sponsors of moreliapythons.com
For best prices, check Kingsnake.com classifieds or go to a reptile show.
It takes about 4 years to adulthood if the snake is not pushed too hard.

Any quality breeder will be able to show you pictures of the dam, sire, and individual baby you are purchasing. They will also include feed cards, good customer service, and some will be able to show you older siblings to give a better idea of the color potential.
Also, price is a pretty good indication. While anyone can charge high prices, and not neccesarily have quality snakes, very few quality breeders will sell their offspring for under $100 or so.
Ask for pics.

Met a breeder at last Nov. White Plains show with spectacular animals. I paid $175 for a female that has only gotten better w/each shed. Bought a male at the Hamburg show, whose yellow seems to be getting a bit muddy. Check White Plains, and if he's there, you'll know. Had photos of sire and dam, as well as yearlings from a previous clutch.
